July 30, 2010: The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) has instructed police to give priority to investigations regarding complaints that are lodged on the hotline established to accept complaints of child abuse.
According to senior DIG N. K. Illangakoon, a circular in this regard has been issued.
The senior DIG has also called for a speedy investigation to be carried out on all cases reported on the 'child line - 1929' and a progress report submitted to the national Child Protection Authority within 48 hours.
