July 29, 2010: Extensive damage was caused to a house in the Guruthalawa area in Peradeniya, when a wild boar went on a rampage after seeing its reflection on a windowpane.
The boar ambling along a slope beside the house, had accidentally fallen into the corridor of the house in question.

Seeing his reflection in a windowpane, he had gone on a rampage and had smashed into smithereens everything on which he saw his reflection.
According to the residents of the house, the boar had attacked household items worth around Rs. 200,000.
The residents had been participating in a religious event at a neighbor's house when this bizarre incident occurred.
Police and Wild Life officers had arrived and chased the enraged animal away.
According to environmental lawyer Jagath Gunawardena, certain animals see their reflection as a foe.
He noted that it was not uncommon for animals to act in that manner in such circumstances.
