July 22, 2010: The Annual General Meeting of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) will be held on July 23, 2010 at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
The CILT Sri Lanka is a branch organisation of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, formed in the United Kingdom in 1919.
The institute received the Royal Charter in the year 1926 and has a current membership of over 33,000 spread over 100 countries with a worldwide mission 'to be recognised as the leading source and assurance of excellence for logistics and transport professionals'.
The Institute in Sri Lanka was initiated in 1983 and incorporated by an Act of Parliament. It has a membership of over 400 locally, covering important members of the industry.
Saliya Senanayake, who is also an International Vice President, is the current chairman of the CILT Sri Lanka.
