July 19, 2010: The inaugural concert of the Junior Symphony Orchestra of the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka is scheduled to go on stage on July 24 at the Lionel Wendt in Colombo.
The main aim of this concert is to improve and bring out the potential and develop the musical skill of young musicians to create a pool of musicians that will play in the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka, known as the only complete orchestra in South Asia.
The Junior Symphony Orchestra comprise 29 young musicians from the ages 10 to 20.
These young musicians are trained and directed by Ananda Dabare and have been training for about an year.
