COLOMBO (News 1st); The Supreme Court has determined that the Sri Lanka Electricity Bill is inconsistent with constitution, and that a Special Majority is required for its passage.
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena announced to the parliament that the said inconsistencies shall however cease and can be passed by a simple majority, if those clauses are amended as set out in the determination of the Supreme Court.
