Five Arrested Over Fatal Shooting Of Kanjipani Imran’s Relative

COLOMBO (News 1st): Five suspects, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a relative of notorious organized crime gang leader Kanjipani Imran.

Police stated that the Colombo North Division Criminal Investigation Unit arrested a male suspect and a female suspect yesterday for aiding and abetting the crime.

The 21-year-old male suspect and the 23-year-old female suspect are residents of Colombo 15.

Police seized 25 grams and 840 milligrams of 'Ice' (methamphetamine) in their possession.

Meanwhile, three other suspects have been arrested for aiding and abetting the shooting during a raid conducted by the Colombo District Crimes Division.

The suspects, aged 19, 25, and 28, are residents of Mattakkuliya, Dompe, and Mulleriyawa.

Police mentioned that 12 grams and 380 milligrams of 'Ice' along with a motorcycle suspected to have been used for the crime were also taken into police custody.

The shooting took place on the 10th at a shop on Sangharaja Mawatha, Maligawatte.
