Cabinet To Consider Judges’ Retirement Age Proposal

COLOMBO (News 1st):The Ministry of Justice is in the final stages of preparing a proposal to extend the retirement age of judges serving on the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

The proposal is expected to be submitted to the Cabinet on the 30th of July.

Meanwhile, during the Cabinet decisions media briefing held on the 21st July , Cabinet Spokesperson and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said a report had been requested from the Ministry of Justice on the proposal to extend the retirement age of judges.
