COLOMBO (News 1st) - A delegation led by the Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, arrived on the island on the 03rd of May - day before yesterday for a three-day official visit.
The delegation met with the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, and senior officials of the Ministry yesterday (04).
During the meeting, the delegation led by Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Mureshko held special discussions regarding the country’s primary healthcare services and focus was given to several technical matters.
Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa stated that Russia has agreed to empower the local healthcare sector
with modern technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), and to provide advanced medical education opportunities for Sri Lankan doctors.
Furthermore, Mikhail Murashko emphasized Russia's readiness to provide assistance to help Sri Lanka overcome current challenges, including challenges in the country's energy sector.
He also expressed intention to strengthen the pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain between the two nations.
