COLOMBO (News 1st): Four Sri Lankans have been injured after debris from a missile launched by Iran fell in Dimona, Israel.
Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, stated that the injured individuals have been admitted to hospital for treatment.
He noted that amid the ongoing conflict, multiple missiles are being launched towards Israel by various groups. These are often intercepted at night, breaking into smaller fragments that can be seen across the sky.
Despite strict warnings from Israeli authorities to remain indoors during such incidents, some individuals continue to step outside to record the events on mobile phones and cameras.
The Ambassador revealed that a group of Sri Lankans in Dimona had stepped yesterday to film a missile interception when falling debris struck them, resulting in injuries.
He strongly urged the public to follow safety guidelines and avoid going outdoors during such attacks, emphasizing that doing so could pose serious risks to life.
