COLOMBO (News1st): According to the Export Development Board (EDB) Sri Lanka’s export sector maintained a strong and steady growth rate over the past year, with total export earnings exceeding US$ 17.2 billion.
The EDB announced that the sector recorded an annual growth rate of 5.6%.
Based on provisional data from Sri Lanka Customs and estimated figures for the gem, jewelry, and petroleum product sectors, the total export revenue stood at US$17.25 Billion.
In December 2025 alone, the combined export earnings from both merchandise and services reached US$1.49 billion.
The EDB highlighted that this represents a 3.95% increase compared to the performance recorded in December 2024.
