COLOMBO (News 1st); The ongoing investigation into the shooting and killing of a business establishment manager in Ambalangoda has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on the directive of the Inspector General of Police.
Police stated that nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident so far.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that several suspects involved in the case had stayed at a house in Ampitiya, Kandy, which belongs to former Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Tennakoon.
According to police, the house was undergoing roof renovations under a contract agreement.
Investigations have uncovered that the suspects had visited the property on multiple occasions along with the contractor.
It has also been confirmed that the suspects returned to the same house after the shooting incident.
Further investigations into the case are currently underway.
