COLOMBO (News 1st); Pakistan Navy’s PNS Saif has stepped into Sri Lanka’s disaster response efforts following the devastating floods triggered by Cyclonic Storm Ditwah.

A Harbin Z-9EC helicopter, embarked on PNS Saif after its participation in the International Fleet Review 2025 off Colombo, was swiftly deployed for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions.

On the request and in coordination with Sri Lankan authorities, the helicopter flew over flood-affected residential areas in Kotika, delivering HADR packages to stranded families perched on rooftops of inundated homes. These emergency drops included food, water, and essential supplies for survival.

Further strengthening its support, Pakistan’s Ship PNS Saif, docked at Colombo Port, officially handed over donations and packed relief items through the Sri Lanka Navy, reinforcing the spirit of regional cooperation during a national crisis.
