Welimada Flash Flood Claims Life, Husband Missing

COLOMBO (News 1st); A sudden flash flood in Wangekumbura, Welimada turned deadly yesterday (17) evening, claiming the life of a 32-year-old woman while her husband, aged 37, remains missing.
The couple was swept away by a powerful surge of water amid heavy rains that lashed the Badulla District.
The District Disaster Management Unit confirmed the woman’s death and said search operations are underway to locate her missing husband.
