COLOMBO (News 1st); The Lanka Government Cloud (LGC) service, which experienced a significant disruption recently, has now been fully restored, according to the Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy, Varuna Sri Dhanapala.
The restoration was carried out by officials from the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), following a technical failure that impacted the digital operations of more than 40 government institutions.
Among the affected entities were the Department of the Registrar General, the Department of Pensions, and the Sri Lanka Police, all of which experienced interruptions to their online services during the outage.
Dhanapala further stated that a modernization project is currently underway to upgrade the Lanka Government Cloud infrastructure.
