Federation of University Teachers’ Association to Launch Nationwide Strike Today

COLOMBO (News 1st)  - The Federation of University Teachers’ Association (FUTA) has announced that its members will stage a nationwide strike today.

Its spokesperson, Senior Lecturer Charudaththa Ilangasinghe, stated that the decision was taken in protest against the shortage of university teachers, salary disparities, and cuts to allowances.

He says that all universities across the country are expected to suspend academic activities for the day as part of the trade union action.
