Retired Soldier Caught with Foreign Gun & Military Gear

COLOMBO (News 1st): A retired Sri Lanka Army soldier has been arrested in possession of a foreign-manufactured pistol and a stock of illegal drugs in Kelaniya.

Police stated that the suspect was initially apprehended on Kohilawila Road with 110 grams of the narcotic substance known as "Ice." 

Following interrogation, officers searched a residence in Malabe where the suspect was temporarily residing.

During the search, police recovered a foreign-made pistol, 10 rounds of ammunition, and two sets of military uniforms. The suspect, a 41-year-old resident of Galnewa, remains in custody as investigations continue.
