COLOMBO (News 1st); Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasuriya has announced a new directive limiting the duration police officers can reside in official quarters to a maximum of five years.
According to the Acting IGP, a circular outlining the new policy has already been issued.
The decision aims to ensure equal opportunity for all officers, particularly in enabling them to enroll their children in reputable schools during their tenure.
