COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka–India Defence Dialogue was held at the Defence Headquarters Complex in Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte, marking another milestone in the deepening strategic partnership between the two nations.
The Sri Lankan delegation was led by Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Sampath Thuyacontha, while the Indian delegation was headed by Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.
The high-level discussions focused on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation, strengthening maritime security in the Indian Ocean region, and exploring new avenues for collaboration in military training and strategic engagement.
Senior defence officials from both countries participated in the dialogue, reaffirming their commitment to a robust and enduring defence partnership.
In addition to the formal talks, Singh also held separate meetings with Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General (Retd) Aruna Jayasekara, and Defence Secretary Thuyacontha, further reinforcing the spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
