NEC to Address Sri Lanka Freedom Party Crisis

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Election Commission has scheduled a discussion today to address the ongoing crisis within the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

R. M. A. L. Ratnayake, the chairman of the commission, has affirmed that all pertinent documentation forwarded by two factions within the party will be thoroughly reviewed during the session.

Ratnayake assured a comprehensive examination of the presented materials before arriving at any decisions concerning the prevailing circumstances.

Furthermore, the Acting General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has formally lodged objections with the Election Commission regarding recent appointments.

Member of Parliament, Dushmantha Mitrapala, serving as the Acting General Secretary, emphasized adherence to the party's constitutional protocols in all endeavors.

Simultaneously, another faction within the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has formally apprised the National Election Commission of recent decisions made by the party's Politburo.

This communication included documentation outlining the newly appointed members and relevant proceedings of the Politburo meeting.
