Commuters returning to Colombo after the New Year holidays can still take advantage of special transportation services.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) announced extended operation of special bus services until tomorrow (April 17th) to help people get back to Colombo from their villages.

The All Ceylon Private Bus Owners' Association said that 25% of private buses were operational yesterday and will be increasing their capacity today to meet the higher demand.

Sri Lanka Railways added 12 special trains on routes from Badulla, Beliatta, and Galle to Colombo Fort to accommodate the influx of passengers.

Considering the high demand, the Railway Department is also deploying additional trains from Colombo back to Badulla and Galle.
