Train derails in Colpetty

COLOMBO (News 1st); An office train plying from Mahawa to Moratuwa has derailed in Colpetty.

Railway Traffic Superintendent NJ Indipolage said train delays may be reported along the coastal line due to the derailment.

Sri Lanka Railways said the derailment will not affect trains plying towards Colombo.

However, trains plying from Colombo along the coastal route may be delayed.

The Railway Traffic Superintendent said measures are being taken to rerail the train promptly.
