COLOMBO (News 1st); Around six trains plying along the coastal railway line have been cancelled, due to a train derailing in Colpetty.

Railway Traffic Superintendent N.J. Indipolage said several trains scheduled to operate to Kalutara, Moratuwa and Panadura were cancelled.

He said other trains plying along the coastal line may also be delayed.

An office train plying from Mahawa to Moratuwa derailed in Colpetty.

Sri Lanka Railways said the derailment will not affect trains plying towards Colombo.

However, trains plying from Colombo along the coastal route may be delayed.

The Railway Traffic Superintendent said measures are being taken to rerail the train promptly.
