Former MP Nishantha Muthuhettigama remanded

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Former Member of Parliament Nishantha Muthuhettigama has been remanded by the Galle Chief Magistrate until September 21.

A case was filed against the Former MP over the possession of a vehicle assembled with illegally imported vehicle spare parts, and a fake number plate.

The vehicle was seized by the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit on October 30, 2022.

The Galle Chief Magistrate also ordered the Director of the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit, who conducted an investigation into the matter, to appear before court, over dissatisfaction with how the case was carried out.
