Nine police officers killed in a suspected suicide attack in Pakistan

Colombo (News 1st) - A suspected suicide attack in Pakistan's Balochistan province has claimed the lives of nine police officers, injuring 13 others. This attack is the third major attack against security personnel in Pakistan in a matter of months. 

According to the police, preliminary evidence suggests that it was a suicide attack but investigations are still underway. However there has been no claim of responsibility for the attack.

Balochistan has been the centre of insurgency as separatists demand independence from the country. Baloch militants have increased access to a wider range of armaments and have escalated their tactics.
