Suspect arrested for biting hand of Police officer

COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect has been arrested for biting the hand of a Police officer who went to settle a clash that took place last night (19)

The Police officer had attempted to settle a clash which occurred during a concert held at the Hiripitiyawa Stadium in Galnewa, Anuradhapura.

Accordingly, an Army member was arrested following the incident, while the injured police officer has been admitted to the Galnewa Hospital.

The suspect was admitted to the Galnewa Hospital and was later transferred to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital amidst Police security.

The suspect has been identified as a resident of Halmillewa, and Galnewa Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
