Report on Muthurajawela wetland construction today

COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Environment Mahinda Amaraweera says he is due to receive a report regarding the construction work being carried out by filling a part of the Muthurajawela wetlands, today (13).

Speaking to News 1st, the Minister said he ordered the Director-General of the Central Environmental Authority to inquire into all the media reports regarding an ongoing project at the Muthurajawela wetland.

He added that based on the report, strict action will be taken to intervene and stop the project work.
