COLOMBO (News 1st): Parties in a coalition Government should act more responsibly,  the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, Sagara Kariyawasam says. He said this while commenting on the actions of some Ministers, demanding to impose lockdown, at a media briefing held today (23). Speaking at the media briefing held today (23) the General Secretary said that this is not the first time that certain parties have made agreements and letters were sent to the President. "All the Cabinet Ministers took a unanimous decision to not to go for a lockdown. The very same Ministers go out of that place to write letters and demand the exact opposite" He said. Commenting further on this, the Secretary General said that he requested the President to look into this matter specifically. He said that the parties in a coalition Government should act responsibly and that letters should be issued to the media after much consideration and should be a collective decision. "I think the Government as a whole is very embarrassed about these particular Ministers. Parties, especially those in coalition Governments, should act more responsibly. We see this as a very low-level act and coalition parties should know better than to write letters to media after coming to a decision collectively. ” Therefore, the Secretary General requested the President to take strict action in this regard and not to allow such situations to arise in the future https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFzS06GtevU
