All public sector employees will return to work from 02nd August

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Secretary to the President has instructed that steps be taken to call all public sector employees to work as usual from the 2nd of August with strict adherence to the COVID-19 Preventive Health Guidelines.

The President's Media Division stated that the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils, and Local Government J.J. Ratnasiri was instructed to do so.

Accordingly, the Secretary to the President has instructed to terminate the circulars that were issued directing the public sector staff to operate on a rotation basis as per a roster and to work from home.

The President's Media Division stated that the targetted percentage of the population has been vaccinated covering all districts.

The President's Media Division stated that since the majority of public sector employees have also been vaccinated, priority should be given to maintaining the public service as usual.
