Ambassador designate of China to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong lands in Sri Lanka

The New Ambassador-designate of China to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong arrived in the island last evening. (30th October) The Chinese Embassy announced that he is to undergo self-quarantine for two weeks. The Chinese Embassy said “The Ambassador has passed PCR test prior to his flight and will enter self-quarantine for 2 weeks. Considering current difficult situation in the island, Ambassador Qi has politely refused all receiving arrangement at the airport but only with minimized number of diplomats from the embassy, to avoid any trouble to Sri Lankan friends,” HE Qi Zhenhong had previously served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Bahrain from 2014 to 2017. Before his appointment in Sri Lanka he held office as the President of the China Institute of International Studies from 2017.
