COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka's water board on Saturday urged people to settle their water bills through online methods amidst the ongoing curfew due to the coronavirus. "The lack of funds is posing a challenge to provide an uninterrupted supply of water," the national water supply and drainage board (NWSDB) said in a statement. Accordingly, the water board called on the public to settle their monthly bills through the NWSDB Self Care App, the NWSDB Smart Pay App, or through its website www.waterboard.lk. "These bills can also be paid through banks via their mobile apps, websites, or online banking facilities," the statement read. The NWSDB further said that payment counters in their city offices would also be kept open from 8 am to 6 pm on weekdays. People opting to make over the counter payments have been instructed to wear a face mask and adhere to the social distancing regulations issued by authorities. Meanwhile, customers wishing to obtain e-bills or further information have been requested to send the account number on their bill and their email address to 0719399999.
