Sri Lankan students in Wuhan are safe - Foreign Ministry

Colombo (News 1st) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that the Sri Lankan students in the quarantined Chinese city of Wuhan, are all in good health. The ministry noted that the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing is constantly monitoring their situation.  The embassy is also in touch with the Chinese external affairs ministry on what actions need to be taken in case of an emergency. Around 25 - 30 Sri Lankan students are believed to be in Wuhan for higher education purposes. Wuhan which has a population of over 11mn people is currently under quarantine due to an outbreak of the coronavirus.
