New Commander of Army assumes duties

Colombo (News 1st): Newly appointed Commander of Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva assumed duties today at the auspicious time of 9.52 am. A guard of honour and a parade was held at the Army Headquarters welcome the new Army Commander.
Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva was appointed as the 23rd Commander of the Army by President Maithripala Sirisena on August 11th.
