Three persons arrested for photographing Vesak decorations

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Three people were arrested for allegedly photographing Vesak decorations and temples near the Ratnapura town. The suspects were 25 years of age and were handed over to the police by a group of locals. Subsequently, locals requested the police to inspect the houses of the apprehended individuals. Due to a delay in inspecting their residences by the police, a tense situation arose opposite the Ratnapura Police station last night. The News 1st correspondent noted that the Sri Lanka Army and Police took steps to inspect the houses of the arrested individuals following the tense situation in the Ratnapura police precinct. The mother of the suspects noted that the children are innocent and their hobby was photography. The law enforcement unit of the Ratnapura police station is conducting further investigations into this matter.
