Colombo (News1st): At a media briefing held in Colombo, views were expressed about issues faced by estate workers. Vidarshana Kannangara stated that they are signing a deal for Rs. 750, by deceiving the people. He said they need to defeat this dubious agreement. Kannangara noted that certain media institutions are supporting this, therefore they need to continue this struggle. Who is this person speaking about estate workers? This individual was one of the NGO henchmen who demonstrated opposite the MTV/MBC head office on the 10th of this month, attired in black with black face masks. The media has been reporting on the Rs. 1000 daily wage of the estate workers over a long period of time. The fact that the #NGODollarGang has started talking about this issue proves that they are doing so to fulfil their own agendas. It is no secret that the actions of this #NGODollarGang were also a result for the daily wage to go down to Rs. 750. SLFP Nuwara Eliya Organizer P. Pradeepan noted that they see these individuals as those who represent Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera. He requested these NGO members to not use the struggle for wages to further their own agendas. P. Pradeepan questioned; Can the NGO representatives speak to the estate owners? Can they hold discussions with the government?  He said they are trying to deceive the people in the central hills by creating unwanted issues.
