All provincial Governors have resigned - Reginald Cooray

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Governor of the Northern Province Reginald Cooray confirmed that all Governors including himself had tendered their letters of resignation to President Maithripala Sirisena with effect from the 29th of December (Saturday).

Responding to a question raised by a journalist, Cooray noted that they are yet to be summoned by the President. He went onto noted that he has always fulfilled his duties and will continue to do so if he receives a new appointment.

Reginald Cooray added that all state servants should be transferred every 5 years because they could become complacent or become insensitive towards the problems they face.
