Harin and Malik loose two ministries

Colombo (News1st): Two subjects which were under the purview of Ministers Harin Fernando and Malik Samarawickrama have been removed from their respective ministerial portfolios. This was revealed through extraordinary gazettes which were issued by the government printer. On 20th December, Harin Fernando was sworn in as Minister of Telecommunications, Digital Infrastructure, Foreign Employment & Sports while Malik Samarawickrama was sworn in as Minister of Development Strategies, International Trade and Science, Technology and Research. However, an extraordinary gazette issued on the 26th of December claims both Fernando and Samarawickrama have resigned their offices with effect from 21st December. Another extraordinary gazette issued on the same day stated that they were reinstated as Cabinet ministers, however, some subjects which came under their purview had been removed. The subject of Digital Infrastructure was removed from Harin Fernando while the subject of Science, Technology, and Research were taken off from Malik Samarawickrama. Another Extra Ordinary Gazette issued on the same day noted that Ajith P Perera and Sujeewa Senasinghe were sworn in as ministers (non-cabinet) for the above-mentioned subjects.
