Maddumabandara to crackdown on inefficient state sector

Colombo (News1st) - Speaking to the media following an event in Colombo yesterday Minister of Public Administration and Disaster Management Ranjith Maddumabandara noted that everyone knows that the state sector is slow and inefficient. He noted that they are currently thinking of creating a system to punish state sector officials who delay their work. He noted that the sole purpose of trade unions is to ensure that the work gets done not to ensure that the work does not get done. Maddumabandara clarified that their actions will have no effect on the trade unions adding that they are doing this for the people.
