Ven. Gnanasara Thero sentenced to six months in prison

(Colombo News 1st) - The Homagama Magistrate Court sentenced Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara to 6 months in prison on Thursday (June 14th). The verdict was issued by the magistrate in connection to the threats levelled at Sandya Eknaligoda and also forcing himself into a court complex, the Thero was ordered to pay 50,000 Rupees as compensation to Sandya. If the thero fails to pay the sum, the prison sentence is to be extended by 3 months and a fine of 3,000 rupees is to be charge.
