The offices of Fox Networks Group have been raided by the European Commission amid a probe into sports broadcasting rights. Other companies involved in sports rights have also received what the European Commission called "unannounced inspections". However, it is unclear which other companies were raided and when. Investigators are understood to have seized documents and computer records at the company's Hammersmith office in west London. Following the raid, a spokesperson for Fox Networks Group said the company is "cooperating fully with the European Commission." A European Commission spokesman said of the raids on Tuesday (April 10): “The European Commission can confirm that on 10 April its officials carried out unannounced inspections in several member states at the premises of companies active in the distribution of media rights and related rights pertaining to various sports events and/or their broadcasting. Unannounced inspections are a preliminary step into suspected anticompetitive practices.”
